pum zì tà pum zì tà pum pum is a graphic essay that explores the world of drums through the language of comics and visual communication. as an essay it is also an experiment, since both words have the meaning of test, verification, tasting. however, pum zì tà pum zì tà pum pum is also a rhythm and so it proceeds, in a syncopated and frisky way: exploiting reading modalities, this essay tries to contemplate both western linear reading and “pentagrammatic” reading in order to allow the reader to both read the rithms and hear the panel sequences. just try scanning the qr codes on the pages.
